Take a trip back through Australian showbiz history with Reg Gorman in his new show, ‘Hanging on to Vaudeville’ at the Eastbank Centre on Tuesday 12th April.

Part of the popular Afternoon Delights series, the show will showcase some of Reg Gorman’s best loved comedy sketches, as well as great storytelling about his life in the limelight. 

The Council’s Manager of Performing Arts and Conventions, Mr Rob Robson, said Reg Gorman is an energetic, physical comic with a showbiz career spanning over 50 years.

“His sketches are interspersed with stories about his life, from early childhood growing up in a country at war, to working on a dairy farm, making artificial limbs in the family business and eventually falling into his lifelong career as an entertainer,” Mr Robson said.

“Reg has worked with some amazing people and he shares some fascinating ‘behind the scenes’ stories.”

Reg Gorman will be accompanied on the piano by one of Australia’s hardest working conductors and musical directors, Kevin Hocking.

Afternoon Delights performances are presented in a flat floor setting with easy access for audience members.  The ticket price includes afternoon tea and the chance to win a lucky door prize.

“This is a very special show, not be missed.  Everyone should come along and let the ‘last king of vaudeville’ make you laugh out loud,” Mr Robson added.

‘Hanging on to Vaudeville’ will be presented by Riverlinks at 1.30 pm on Tuesday 12th April at the Eastbank Centre.
