Showcase #14: Ulrica Trulsson

6 May 2017 - 30 Jul 2017

Emerging Swedish born ceramicist Ulrica Trulsson now lives and works in Adelaide. Trulsson’s wheel thrown pots are carefully crafted, and characterised by refined structural elements with intriguing glazed surfaces of shifting colours and textures. There is an apparent simplicity to the aesthetic of her work, underpinned by detailing in the making, from fitting of lids and details of knobs and handles, to the assembling of pots made from several components. Her stoneware pots celebrate the materials used, and each pot has its own subtle peculiarities. When presenting her work, Trulsson’s assemblages of pots oscillate between positive and negative space, form, surface and details.
